Twisted Cirque Live
Aerial silks above the dance floor, fire lining the walk to the reception, a first dance framed by something nobody expected. Designed around your run sheet, not dropped on top of it.
Wedding entertainment goes wrong when it competes with the wedding. The couples we work with are not trying to turn the reception into a circus — they are trying to give guests one moment of genuine surprise in an evening that otherwise follows a shape everyone in the room has seen before. That means placing one or two acts precisely, not filling the night with them.
Fire performers lining the walk from the ceremony to the reception while guests move across in the dark. Four minutes, and the tone of the evening is set.
Guests walk in and there is an aerialist already suspended above the dance floor, moving slowly to the music playing them in.
A duo aerial act above or behind you while you dance — or immediately after, taking the room from intimate to spectacular.
A fire finale as you leave. It is the last thing guests see and, reliably, the photograph that ends up framed.
We work from your run sheet with your planner, coordinator or DJ so the act lands in the gap that exists rather than one we have invented. If your timeline is tight, we would rather perform once and land it than twice and rush.
Every wedding booking includes an original piece of music composed for you. Not a licensed track chosen to fit — a piece that did not exist before your enquiry and will not be performed for anyone else afterwards. It is the part of what we do that no other supplier on your venue’s list can offer.
It starts with a conversation rather than a form. How you met, what you have been through, the things that are yours. From that brief we compose three original pieces and send them to you. You listen, and you choose the one that is right. The act is then choreographed to that piece, and the recording is yours to keep afterwards.
And it is an option, not an obligation. If there is a song that already means something to you — the one that was playing when you met, or the track you have always imagined walking in to — we choreograph the act to that instead. The Signature Score is there for couples who want something that belongs only to them.
One thing worth knowing up front: each piece is composed complete, not as a rough draft, so we cannot edit one after it exists. That is exactly why you get three finished pieces to choose between rather than one to approve. If none of the three feel right, we go back to the brief and compose a fresh set.
We perform regularly at wedding venues across Muldersdrift, the Cradle of Humankind, Hartbeespoort, the Magaliesberg, Centurion and the Pretoria east, as well as hotel and estate venues throughout Johannesburg and Sandton. Farm and bushveld venues suit fire particularly well; barn and warehouse-style venues with height are ideal for aerial.
Where a venue has no rigging points, we supply free-standing aerial rigs — quoted separately from the performance fee, with delivery and installation included — so a marquee or a garden is not a barrier. Where a venue prohibits open flame, we run the same choreography in LED. We conduct a site inspection first and give your coordinator a written brief covering safety, space, timing and power.
Saturdays in the South African wedding season book out a long way ahead. October through to April is busy, with the December window the tightest of all, so six to nine months of notice is comfortable for a Saturday and three months is workable midweek or off-season.
To put a proposal together we need your date, your venue, roughly how many guests, and the moment you want us in. It also helps to know your palette and the mood of the day — we can match custom costuming to your colours (quoted separately), and the choreography for a black-tie estate wedding is not the choreography for a barefoot bushveld one.
You tell us the story — how you met, what matters, anything you want woven in. We compose three original pieces from that brief and send them to you. You choose the one that is right, the act is choreographed to it, and the recording is yours to keep. Each piece is composed complete rather than as a rough draft, so we cannot edit one after it exists. That is why you get three finished options to choose between rather than one to approve. You are also free to skip it entirely and give us a song of your own to choreograph to — the Score is an option, not a condition of booking.
The three strongest slots are the walk from ceremony to reception, the moment guests enter the reception, and the send-off. We work from your run sheet with your planner or DJ so the act fits the gap that already exists rather than stretching your timeline.
Yes. We supply free-standing aerial rigs — an A-frame, T-frame or lollipop — which means marquees, gardens and venues with unsuitable ceilings are all workable. These are hired separately from the performance fee, with delivery and installation included, and we confirm what your venue needs on a site inspection before you commit.
We run the identical choreography in LED and glow, which reads beautifully on camera and satisfies venues with strict fire policies. Many couples use LED indoors and fire outside for the send-off.
Six to nine months for a Saturday in season (roughly October to April), and around three months for midweek or off-season dates. December is the tightest window of the year.
Yes. Standard costuming is included, and custom costuming matched to your palette is quoted separately from the performance fee. Send us your palette and any inspiration images and we will price it for you.
Couples often combine one aerial act with a fire send-off. The individual discipline pages have more detail:
